THE HOUSE OF DI'm Eva and I 'm a fan of David Duchovny , I just felt so sorry that House of D didn't work as he had to , I wanted to create my own blog first to tell the people to go and watch the movie and see how a great movie it is...David Duchovny made a great scenario with a wonderful cast :Téa Léoni proves through this movie how much a great actress she can be , she makes the character live , and it's so good to see how well she plays .I now can understand what David Duchovny said that his wife was a 'gifted' woman , she's very talented and I hope people will like to see her play tommy's mother.
Now let's talk about Anton Yelchin: This young actor plays Tommy who 's a young mature boy who grows up in New york with his mother (played by Téa Léoni) and whose best friend is an older man who's aged (approximatively) 40 with a kind of mental backward. Anton Yelchin gives us an insight of what a 13-year-old boy life must be like in the '73s New York city and it plays his character with talent.
And what about Erykah Badu who plays the role of Bernadette/Lady...Lady is a woman who lives in the House of Dentention ( house of D.) of New York city and the story is mostly about how she meets Tommy and makes him realize there is more to life than what he is living...i think she's some kind of a mentor, (sometimes it can be a teacher or an authority figure) , but in this movie ,Lady represents some kind of wisdom and Tommy finds in her a great person with who he can talk with about his life and his personal choices.
Erykah Badu gives us a great perfomance and shows us that not only she's a good singer and perfomer but also a great actress.(not to mention the wonderful moment when she sings 'Sweet Melissa' by the Allman Brothers)
Robin williams who's now well-known by his good perfomances being an actor but he still surprises us by the quality of his roles and the way he plays them...House of D is not an exception.
And now David Duchovny who has the role of the 40-year-old Tommy and who explain his wife how he didn't get over with his past and the way he needs to go back to New York to straight things up with his past life .
That is such a wonderful movie with a great story and which makes us understand how life may have been in the New york of the '70s...
No matter what critics may say , please go to get tickets and watch House of D , and make your own opinion about the movie .And when it's released on DVD, don't forget it !You won't be disappointed, I promise!
